Dr. Hortensia Kelly Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Dr. Hortensia Kelly's journey in medicine began in her native Cuba before she immigrated to the United States. Settling in Newark, NJ, she balanced her education at Barringer High School with work as a pharmacist assistant. Driven by her passion for medicine's societal impact, Dr. Kelly pursued a dual major in Anthropology and Biology at Rutgers University. Simultaneously, she interned as a Medical Research Assistant at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Graduating as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002 from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, she honed her skills through residencies in Internal and Family Medicine at various hospitals across Essex County. In 2008, Dr. Kelly began practicing as a Family Medicine Physician at Rutgers University, later becoming Medical Director for Bergen County's Department of Corrections Health Services. She served as the sole bilingual Medical Consultant for the State of New Jersey Office of Disability Benefits while maintaining a private practice in Newark. Her journey continued as Medical Director for the Newark Health Department/FQHC, and presently, she holds the position of Medical Director at the Saint James Health Consortium of Health Services. Beyond her local impact, Dr. Kelly has contributed internationally through medical missions to regions including South America, the Caribbean, India, and Africa. Recognition for her dedication has come from various organizations, including Essex County Hispanic Organizations, where she was honored as International Doctor of the Year for two consecutive years. Additionally, she has been recognized by the Hispanic Women Society, the Addiction Medicine Society, and several medical associations. Dr. Kelly stands out in Essex County and surrounding communities for her practice in holistic medicine and her commitment to patient care, emphasizing nutritional and lifestyle approaches to wellness.

Kathleen Vanessa Beazer, LSW Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Kathleen Vanessa Beazer has worked professionally as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) since 1995. Much of her career has been dedicated to child welfare, specializing in assisting children and families facing challenges related to child abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. As a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), she also works as a mental health therapist. Kathleen is comfortable working with children, adolescents, families, and couples, and she has extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Morgan State University (BSW) and a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from Fordham University. Additionally, she has a certificate in non-profit leadership from Fordham University and an advanced certificate in Bowen Family Systems Theory from Rutgers. Kathleen is extremely passionate about helping people reach their full potential, a commitment that guided her decision to pursue social work since the age of 15. She takes pride in fostering a calm, safe space for her clients.
